Door County

My boyfriend just got back from a weekend trip to Door County recently, and he brought me these lovely postcards.

Peninsula State Park-Savor the serenity at the shoreline of Green Bay

Cana Island- it's located just northeast of Baileys Harbor. The famous Cana Island Lighthouse was built in 1851.

Gills Rock- Oftern referred to as The Top O' The Thumb, Gills Rock is a quaint little fishing village with plenty of shops, fine dining and other activities, make sure you can tell everyone you made it to "The Top O' The Thumb!"

Fish Boil- A traditional Door County meal consisting of whitefish, new potatoes, and onions. A slice of cherry pie for dessert tops off this dining and entertainment feature.

I received a postcard from the Maldives yesterday. This is the first postcard that I have of the Maldives. :]

The postcard is of the Angaga Island Resort and Spa. There are over 1190 islands that are part of the Maldives.

Idaho

I received two postcards the other day as part of a direct swap on Facebook.

This adorable child, dressed in ceremonial finery for a Pow Wow, is a member of Nez Perce' tribe that has populated the valleys of the Snake and Clearwater rivers for centuries. This famous tribe is known for its friendship and generousity to early explorers such as Lewis and Clark, and for the breeding and development of the Appaloosa horse, the symbol of the state of Idaho.

The Boise Union Pacific Depot is a former railroad state in Boise, Idaho. It was built in 1935 by the Union Pacific Railroad. In 1990 MK-Morrison Knudsen purchased the depot and renovated it to pristine condition. In 1996, the City of Boise took it over and opens it for tours and special events.
